Invictus: Son of Salt

Empire stole his name. What it gave him may be far more dangerous. Asirayya came to the arena to die. A legendary gladiator, enslaved to the state, he has already arranged his own execution. Today, his closest friend will kill him before ten thousand cheering spectators. But the past refuses to stay buried. A forgotten people. A buried atrocity. A name the empire erased. As political conspiracies tighten around the capital and ancient powers begin to stir beneath the earth, Asirayya discovers that the man empire tried to unmake is not as dead as they hoped. Some men survive history. Others become it.
